Breastmilk is often referred to as liquid gold, and it is. It has the most amazing properties, it adapts to fulfill your baby's changing needs, and it's the most practical way to keep your baby satisfied and growing healthy. But apart from drinking it, you can use it for a couple more things. No, I'm not talking about selling your milk, although I hear there is a whole black market for it which is crazy!
Just a warning that I'm not sure that there is scientific evidence behind the following tips; it's just things I have gotten from other women and have worked for me. I even asked my pediatrician, and she thought I was crazy, but things like this are often dismissed.
Moms in my family swear that breastmilk helps a baby's eyelashes grow long and beautiful, so after breastfeeding, they rub a drop of milk in the baby's eyelash.
Breastmilk for wounds. I swear it helps regenerate all possible scratches and bugs they could have.
I got this from a midwife, and although If you have extra milk, freeze it in icecube trays and put a cube in his bath. It will help with any irritations he might have and leave his skin smooth. You can do this two times per week and moisturize the skin after the bath to seal all the properties.
Rub it on your nipples. Especially during the first weeks of breastfeeding, your nipples will hurt and be irritated, do after every feeding, rub a bit of milk and let them dry.
Have you used breastmilk for anything else? I would love to know any other uses of liquid gold.
